Town Hall Station redesign: for user wellbeing
Between 2001-2023, 1,685 suicides occurred on Australia’s railways, accounting for 72% of all rail-based fatalities (Tracksafe,2024). This alarming statistic motivated me to explore how transport environments influence the well-being and safety of commuters. My project aims to redesign the underground platforms of Town Hall Station to create a more supportive commuter experience. To support my project, I am seeking access to station plans and measurements, user groups for survey and testing, advice on materials, lighting strategies, biophilic integration, and well-being-centred design. I am also looking for practical guidance with 3D digital modelling software. Any professional support would be greatly appreciated.

Using water-based protection to shield homes from bushfire heat and embers
This project explores a design solution aimed at reducing the risk of homes being destroyed during bushfires through the use of a water-based protective structure. The design focuses on creating a system that can shield an entire home from extreme heat, airborne embers, and direct flame exposure by using water as an active protective element. The project will investigate how such a structure could function in real bushfire conditions, including feasibility, shape, materials, and integration with residential buildings in high-risk Australian environments.

Aqua Nova- river water filter
I know I want my project to be centred around wildlife preservation as it is something I am very passionate about, which lead me to the idea of creating a water filter for my local creek which is home to the endangered species the platypus. My plan is to foster a safe environment for local species by designing and implementing a structure to filter out microplastics and harmful oils, specifically targeting pollutants affecting platypus. I would love some feedback from professionals who know anything about engineering a water filter or suggestions for sustainable materials I could incorporate.

Neurotunes- creating the perfect playlist tailored to your brainwaves
My project aim is to track brainwaves to monitor how they respond to different genres of music in order to create an app that compiles the data into exclusive playlists based off personal responses. This could be used to help people with mental disorders, create personalised therapies, and help people who are unable to express themselves, such as individuals in a coma. My goal is to use this project to aid people regulate emotions and create a meaningful impact in their lives. I seek feedback on the feasibility of this project and any adaptions which can be made.

The Hearts Architecture Model - Raising Awareness on Heart Attacks
The heart’s  function crucial for our survival yet so briefly studied. I am developing a silicone heart model that circulates liquid using pneumatic pumping and mimics the structure of a real human heart.  I plan to use silicone to create flexible chambers, stainless-steel sheets for one-way valves and silicone tubing to accommodate blood flow. By adjusting flow and pressure, I want to simulate various heart conditions.  I am searching for experts in medical physiology and physical prototyping for feedback on improving my design. My goal is to create an educational tool that raises awareness about heart functions and related issues.

Helping Hand - Door opening/closing assister
This product is designed to assist short-statured individuals, such as individuals with dwarfism and diastrophic dysplasia, with opening and closing doors. The product will attach to door knobs and door handles and allow short-statured individuals to easily reach and access doors. The product will be portable and will be able to be easily moved to take to new locations with unreachable doors.
